IREDU - EA 7318
Burgundy University

Presentation :

IREDU was created in 1972 by Jean-Claude Eicher, the pioneer of economics of education in France. Building on theoretical economic and sociological approaches and advanced statistical quantitative methods, its research deals with analysis, evaluation and regulation of education systems. It focuses on assessing their efficiency, both internal (inside school) and external (education outcomes in relation with labour markets) and understanding how they shape social inequality.

Its scientific projects are organised along two main strands:

  •  Academic and social conditions of success in education
  •  Academic and vocational orientation, transition from school to work and relations between training and employment.

It is the main research centre of the School of Education of the University of Burgundy and an associate member of the National Centre for Research on employment and qualifications (CEREQ).
