Civic service in the pathways of young people in Burgundy Franche-Comté

Scientific director : Sophie Morlaix (PU)

Researcher : Julien Berthaud (IGR)

The aim of this research is to assess the possible impact of civic service on the pathways of young people who engage in it. Based on a quantitative survey of volunteers who completed their civic service mission in Burgundy Franche-Comté between 2010 and January 2018, this survey has several objectives: to understand the motivations of young people to engage in civic service, to analyse the difficulties encountered in finding and accepting a civic service, and to shed light on their situation at the end of civic service. More generally, this article aims to analyse the evolution of the trajectories of former volunteers by relating them to their initial characteristics and situations, as well as their projects and motivations that led them to get involved.
