Offre de post-doc – The transformation of post-war education

Voici une offre de post-doc sur les réformes des systèmes éducatifs en perspective comparée dans le cadre de l’ERC SCHOOLPOL de Jane Gingrich à l’Université d’Oxford.

The Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join their research project team directed by Professor Jane Gingrich, the Principal Investigator (PI). The project examines the post-war development of education systems in OECD countries, divided over three work streams.

The successful candidate will be based at the Department for Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. The appointment will be offered on a full-time basis and available from 1 September 2019 or as soon possible thereafter for a period of 3 years.

The successful candidate will provide research support across all work streams, including undertaking advanced research within the context of the entire project, with a particular emphasis on historical or quantitative data collection. In addition to pursuing their own related research agenda, s/he will be expected to contribute to the running of the project and to co-author work with the Principal Investigator.

The post-holder’s duties will also include assisting in the compilation of a cross-national database of policies and legislation related to education from the post-war period onwards, and contributing to the dissemination of project results (including the construction of an online open-access database). S/he will be expected to present findings and outputs from the project at international conferences.

The successful candidate will hold, or be close to completion of, a doctorate in the field of political science, sociology, economics or a related area. Applicants should have an interest in and strong understanding of education policy and experience in historical or archival research, or quantitative data collection. In addition, they should be willing and able to contribute to the dissemination of project results and to represent the project at conferences and external events.
