Summary :

Following the success of a call for bids proposed by the SGPI and the ANR, this project seeks to study the impact of LabEx, IdEx, I-Sites and IDEFI. Launched as part of the Programme d’Investissements d’Avenir (PIA), from 2010 onwards, these schemes are designed to create large research universities in France that are comparable to the best in the world (IdEx, I-Sites), to provide laboratories with significant resources (LabEx) and to promote innovative training (IDEFI).

At the IREDU level, this impact study was organised in two parts:

  • On the one hand, a qualitative part, which aims to question the effects of the IDEFI programme, by questioning in a more general way the possible evaluations of this type of programme.
  • On the other hand, a quantitative part (econometric evaluation) led by the University of Bordeaux, where IREDU’s work focuses on the effects of IDEX/LABEX on the attractiveness
